I have been in the Big Brother Big Sister Program for several years. I have a little sister I am very proud of. She graduated for Mt. Vernon High School in Indiana. She’s a great kid headed to college to become a much needed RN. I was so happy to be invited to the graduation with her family.
After the graduation LaTonia wanted to go out for dinner with all of us. LaTonia wanted to go to O’Charley’s and she chose the one on East Washington Street. Now I live on the Eastside, I love the Eastside, but places like the O’Charley’s continues to give the Eastside a bad name.
Here is what we got:
- a floor so greasy that the chairs keep sliding on it,
- a waitress who is filthy and quite rude. Granted it was only ONE waitress for 20 people which was in itself a stupid thing for the manager to do, no matter how good she thought she was.
- Drunks who were friends of this same waitress sitting right next to us, who are lound and obnoxious as well as incredibly rude to everyone.
- A gentleman with a tank top, armpit hair and all busting the tables around us.
- As all of my table mates are finally eating, I am still waiting for a salad (my dinner) that does NOT come out until everyone else is done.
- The waitress, reaches over all of us to pick up dirty dishes in the middle of the table and her very dirty smock is in the plate of my table mate, we are discussed.
- And, top that off, our waitress suddenly has a mood change and proclaims to all of us, that she has an AK47 headache. We stop what we are doing in stunned silence wondering if we should look for cover.
Please god, get us out of here. This was hands down the dirtiest, rudest, nastiest dinner I have ever had the misfortune of attending. Shame on O’Charley’s, shame on the Manager who did nothing to make this situation better. Oh, top it off, they included the gratuity in the checks of everyone at the table.
AND BIG KUDOS to the teenagers, and family members who were at the tables in our party, they showed great restraint and graciousness in spite of the ill treatment.
BEWARE, Do Not go to the O’Charley’s East Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
